Avène Hyaluron Activ B3

I received the cream, eye cream and serum from the Avène Hyaluron Active B3 line, from Influenster and here are my thoughts:

Hyaluron Active B3 Renewal Firming Aqua Cream-In-Gel

An all-on-one light textured anti-aging moisturiser, this can be used as a day or night cream and also a mask to deeply hydrate, plump and rejuvenate elasticity.

This line incorporates a significant 6% Niacinamide (B3, hence the product name) and 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid as the star ingredients. Together they help to plump with moisture, refine texture and even skin tone. Soothing effects come from the brand’s iconic Thermal Spring Water base. Humectants (Glycerin, Diglycerin) enhance hydration, Adenosine helps reduce the appearance of lines and emollients (Squalane and Avocado Oil) soften and smooth. Although there is a little fragrance in this one, it’s subtle and not irritating for me plus it’s said to be formulated for sensitive skin so perhaps only a source for irritation for those extra sensitive to such inclusions.

The result is a glossy, somewhat runny gel that glides over the skin easily and absorbs well without any hint of greasiness or stickiness making it ideal for use during warmer or humid months. Its ability to trap moisture invites drier complexions while oilier users will appreciate its lightweight nature.

I have been using this day and night for a few weeks now and I really like it. It’s enough for my near normal skin (slight combo tendencies) day and night, noting we’ve just come out of summer here in Melbourne at the moment so the conditions aren’t challenging. The moisture is noticeable and lasts between applications. I prefer using this as a moisturiser as I feel it offers enough hydration to eliminate the need to mask. By the way, it leaves a great surface for makeup application too.

The glass jar is refillable with a removable pod and the packaging recyclable. A great product from a reliable brand.

Hyaluron Activ B3 Triple Correct Eye Cream

Claiming triple benefits that target wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles, this fragrance free eye cream promises to refresh, firm and tone with a comfortable finish.

As I’ve mentioned in my previous reviews of this line, the focus ingredients include 6% Niacinamide (B3) to even skin tone and texture plus 0.2% Hyaluronic Acid to moisturise and plump the skin for a reduced appearance of lines. There’s also 0.5% anti-inflammatory Sodium Dextran Sulfate in this one which helps to depuff by increasing blood flow to the topical area and ease dark circles.

Similar to all products in the line, the formula is based in the brand’s soothing Thermal Spring Water (68%). Other notable inclusions of Glycerin and Safflower Seed Oil provide hydration, Vitamin E adds antioxidants; Ayurvedic Extract and Adenosine promote well aging plus emollients like Sunflower Seed Oil deliver softness and improve barrier strength.

Firstly, the tube packing is fabulous, making it easy and clean to dispense the correct amount. Only a small bead of product is needed. It has a nice light weight to it, feels delicate and is quickly absorbed without any greasiness or tackiness. I apply eye creams to all the skin around the eyes including the lid and this hasn’t caused any milia or irritation over the few weeks that I’ve been applying it.  The skin feels nicely moisturised which makes my eyes look fresher.  The finish also makes a great base for makeup.
Add to that it comes in recyclable plastic and sustainably sourced packaging and is reasonably priced, it ticks all the boxes for me.

Hyalyron Activ B3 Concentrated Plumping Serum

Developed to fight the signs of aging, dehydration and dullness, this serum incorporates a huge 6% Niacinamide coupled with 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid to achieve its objectives.

A beautifully minimalist formula incorporates a mere 8 ingredients in total, the heroes most notably accompanied by Glycerin to enhance hydration plus Adenosine to further combat wrinkles, all floating in a soothing base of the brand’s iconic Thermal Spring Water.

Now, that brief, fragrance free formula appeals to me tremendously, delivered in a lightweight, clear gel. The slip and absorption are flawless, making application a pleasure for any skin type, day or night. It delivers good hydration which helps to plump the skin and relieve the appearance of my fine lines.

The generous concentration of Niacinamide is fabulous and hence warrants a place on the product’s title (aka Vitamin B3). B3 has the ability to reduce the appearance of pores, improve skin tone and texture as well as assist to restore the skin’s defence against dryness. I always try to incorporate this ingredient in my routine because its benefits are so universal and help with anything my skin might be experiencing.

I love the hydration and general health benefits of this product. It’s my favourite of the line. Personally, I haven’t seen any soothing benefits but that’s because there’s nothing to soothe! I’m fortunate that I don’t suffer blemishes or redness, fine lines and moisture are my target areas and this serum addresses both extremely well.
