Perfect for those with parched, rough and dull looking skin, it prevents signs of aging, improves elasticity and boosts skin with youthful radiance.

the science

Represented at the highest concentration in the formula is Astragalus Membranaceus (Milk Vecht) Root Extract which has been used in eastern medicine for thousands of years as a tonic and antipathogen. This extract is able to revitalise the skin by reducing inflammation, improving circulation and providing antibacterial support. It’s also mineral and antioxidant rich. Milk Vecht Root Extract protects against elastin breakdown to strengthen skin and improve its texture, elasticity and tone.

Shea Butter is a concentrated source of vitamins and fatty acids, making it moisturising and nourishing. It also boosts the skin’s ability to produce collagen. A good amount of antioxidants like vitamin E as well as polyphenols and phytonutrients give it anti-inflammatory properties, helping to soothe irritated, inflamed skin and acne.

Macadamia Nut Oil is a stable oil that has a composition similar to human sebum, allowing it easy absorption without greasy residue. High in fatty acids, it’s a superb choice for dry and mature skin types since it helps to keep the skin moisturised by preventing transepidermal water loss.

Butylene Glycol is often added to enhance both the mixing compatibility and penetration of other ingredients, ensuring they soak deep into the skin layers for maximum effectiveness rather than just sitting on the surface. Similar to Beeswax and Sodium Hyaluronate, it also displays humectant properties, drawing moisture to the skin from the atmosphere for better hydration.

Emollients include Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate and Cyclohexasiloxane, included to create a smooth and silky skin texture.

the performance

Similar in appearance to the brand’s Moisture Cream, the Nutrition Cream comes in a heavy glass blue jar with plastic screw top lid, protective inner cap and a clear plastic spatula. The weight adds elegance to its presentation. Even the outer box is made to be robust with dual cardboard walls and a snug fit to keep the contents protected and intact. The colour and labelling also ensure it is easily recognisable, maintaining brand consistency.

Although it comes with a spatula, I tend to lose loose scoops and dispensers so will usually resort to using my fingers. The large 100ml jar did not succumb to contamination after doing so, indicating the product is well preserved. Nonetheless, a pump action dispenser would have been more appealing and hygienic. Its volume also ensures it lasts a long time, presented at double the quantity of most moisturisers. So although the price seems a little expensive, it should be noted that the amount is twice most of its counterparts and therefore represents great value.

Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream
As with almost all the brand’s line, this cream has no added colour or fragrance. The formula has the slightest, barely noticeable scent so is easy to use without sensory irritation. The consistency and appearance are luxurious, the cream retaining a glossy, dense white finish. In appearance, it reminds me of the CeraVe Moisturising Cream.

I have used this cream on and off for almost a year now, interrupting only to test other products or because of the season and level of dryness or moisture in the air. For the record, I have normal to combination skin. Although I’ve used it both AM and PM with equal success, I most enjoy it as a year round night cream while it also excels during the day in the winter time. I would suggest drier skin types could even wear it during the day all year round but may need to combine it with some oil to give them a satisfying level of moisturisation during cold winter nights. In fact, the brand suggests this combines perfectly with their Oil to deliver a more powerful skin moisturising solution.

Furthermore, I turn to this cream when my skin is compromised in any way, either from a natural environmental effect or when I suffer a negative reaction from other skincare products. It’s the one that brings my skin back to good health, the one I can rely on to strengthen my moisture barrier.

Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream Texture
I find the application satisfying, effortless glide and no greasy residue upon dry down. Slight initial tackiness dissipates, the cream sinking in fully and rapidly. You only need a small amount so the jar will last a long time. The formula is declared CosDNA and EWG safe so would be suitable for all skin types.

The formula delivers noticeable hydration and locks in long lasting moisture, quenching my skin’s thirst between applications. The product also claims a radiant glow. Apart from the more healthy, plump appearance that results from good moisture content, I can’t actually say that I observed a “glow”. Nonetheless, my skin looks healthier and feels softer and smoother when I use this cream in my routine. The results are very pleasing.

the conclusion

Testament to this cream’s efficacy is the repurchase I have already made. This cream is so satisfying to use. I think this is one of the best moisturisers I have ever tried and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, young or old, oily or dry.

Hi I bought the set of pyunkang yul, it comes with 3 bottles there are mist toner, moisture ampoule and nutrition cream. I’m not sure what should I start with and after?

Hi Kim, Thanks for your question.

The mist toner is lovely and light and can be used at toner step (after cleansing before serum and cream) or during the day to refresh the skin as needed.

The Moisture Ampoule is not really an ampoule at all, it’s a sleeping pack so should be used as the last step of your night routine. It has an odd gel like consistency which you pat into the skin.

The nutrition cream can be used at the end of your day routine (after toner and serum, followed by sunscreen) or as the last step of your night routine (can follow with the moisture ampoule if you need more hydration).

Probably introduce them one at a time so you can see the effect each one has on your skin. In general the order of application is cleanse, tone, serum, moisturise and sleeping mask.

Hope this helps and that you enjoy these products. I personally love Pyunkang Yul!
