The Skocktail Moisjito claims to perform the role of both serum and moisturiser in one step to immediately plump, nourish and repair skin.
There are two hero ingredients in the Skocktail Moisjito formula, both well known in the skincare arena. Firstly, at the highest concentration is Hyaluronic Acid (HA), present at a low molecular weight of 5nm (diameter). HA occurs naturally in the skin, a humectant that has the ability to draw over 1000 times its weight in moisture from the atmosphere to keep it supple and fresh. One gram of HA can hold up to six litres of water. Revitalizing the skin’s outer surface layers gives it a smoother, softer and hydrated appearance, the plumping effect instantly improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Furthermore, in enhancing the skin’s ability to hold water which naturally reduces with age, HA also helps retain firmness.
According to NYC based dermatologist Dr. Kavita Mariwalla:
As a topical [product], as long as it is in the right formulation, it will make the skin appear more dewy and younger because it improves skin elasticity.
Skocktail’s low molecular weight HA ensures the serum penetrates deeply into the skin. In comparison, regular counterparts have a diameter ranging from 200nm-500nm, the larger molecular size meaning it is likely to only benefit the outermost skin layer.
Squalane derived from pure Greek Kalamata olives is the other hero in this product. Once again, squalane is found in the skin, a natural component of human sebum, assuring that it’s absorbed without greasy or oily residue. It comprises three major antioxidants, namely, Vitamin E, Polyphenols and Phytosterols, for ultimate protection against free radicals and restorative function. It is said to penetrate the skin for deep hydration. Emollient properties help trap moisture to keep skin soft and supple. Improved moisture retention assists to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Skocktail claims that their “skin cocktail” delivers the deepest hydration to your skin, the formula mimicking the ideal biological distribution of emollients and humectants. This is confirmed by the fact that both HA and squalane, boost components that are naturally found in the skin.
Remaining ingredients in a count of only 6 are there to fill the formula (water) and preserve it.
Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid (Nano 5nm), Squalane (Derived from Greek Kalamata Olives), Oxygenated Aqua, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate
The CosDNA and EWG assessments return low hazard ratings.
The serum comes in an elegant frosted glass bottle with dropper dispenser. The outer box is sealed with protective cling wrap to avoid any product tampering. The elegant white package from Skocktail arrived with an iridescent card and lovely message.
Shake well to combine the serum-in-oil molecules. Use dropper to directly apply 3 to 4 drops on freshly cleansed, damp face. Gently massage until fully absorbed. Apply AM and PM.

Presentation of the Skocktail Moisjito is eye catching. The iridescent trim on the all-white bottle and matching outer box is refreshing and elegant. Although a pump would be the ideal dispensing solution, the dropper works well. It has a thick consistency which means it doesn’t drip during application. The serum has no detectable smell and is slightly milky in colour. The formula separates when the bottle is left idle so it requires shaking prior to use to fuse the components together for even application and maximum benefit.
The formula is gentle, confirmed by a total lack of sensation when the serum is placed on the skin. There are no nasties in its composition, the serum lacking mineral oils, fragrance, silicones, parabens, ethanol and synthetic preservatives to return a safe rating from both the CosDNA and EWG resources.
In terms of application, the serum has plenty of slip and glides over the skin effortlessly. It dries very quickly too, almost instantly, without any sense of residue, tackiness or stickiness. It simply disappears. If previous layers have not dried down, it can result in a temporarily tacky surface but this sensation dissipates in just a couple of minutes.
The literature claims an increase of skin hydration up to 96%, 55% increase in skin firmness and elasticity plus a 40% reduction in line and wrinkle depth. First things first, I cannot quantify my results without stringent lab conditions so I can only make comments as to the perceived improvements in these areas. Given it’s an oil serum and has a bit of weight to it, I apply it as one of the last steps in my routine, as directed in both AM and PM routines. As currently used, it follows toner, essence and a peptide (PM) or antioxidant (AM) serum. I finish my routine with cream.
Regarding results… well firstly let’s consider hydration. This serum absolutely delivers on this front, my skin feeling noticeably plump and radiant when I use it. Furthermore, the plumping doesn’t even reduce during the day, staying consistent over a 12 hour period. Effects stay continuous and definitely last between applications. So, although I cannot quantify a percentage improvement, increased moisture in the skin is apparent. And this is quite an achievement given I felt that my skin was well hydrated prior to introducing this product into my routine.
The anti-ageing claims of improved firmness and elasticity plus reduced lines are a little more subtle but evident after using this consistently for a few weeks (I’ve used half the bottle). By definition, improved hydration goes hand in hand with a lessened look of lines, the plumping effect smoothing them out. Although this is temporary since lines and wrinkles return to their former state in the absence of hydration, it also goes a long way towards slowing the formation of new lines or the depth and width of existing ones. As such, as a minimum, this serum is an effective anti-ager.
Firmness and elasticity are a little more difficult to measure, although I did observe improvement. My skin feels more robust in general. Increased surface strength implies improved firmness. I honestly can’t tell whether elasticity is better as skin generally bounces back anyway. It may very well be improved, but at least for me, it’s not obvious or detectable.
The Skocktail Moisjito is a simple yet effective hydrating serum that makes a superb inclusion to any routine. Dry and dehydrated skin types will benefit from the oil and water boost respectively; oilier complexions will love the balancing effect and more mature skin types or those seeking to blur and slow the formation or lines and wrinkles will appreciate the enhancement it offers to an anti-ageing routine.
