JKosmmune Serum
the claim
The JKosmmune Serum claims to be a lightweight, high-performance serum, fortified with powerful β-glucan that boosts skin immunity and visibly corrects tone for glowing and healthy skin.
the science
In a short formula comprising only 7 ingredients, the hero is of course β-Glucan which is basically a polysaccharide sugar derived from various mushrooms, plants, algaes, yeast or oats. Represented at 99.99% purity for maximum potency (5,000 ppm), it is able to stimulate collagen production, accelerate wound repair, soothe and calm irritated and inflamed skin, moisturise and fight the signs of ageing. Its humectant effect is supposedly 20% more hydrating than hyaluronic acid, able to lock in moisture while simultaneously preventing transepidermal water loss. These strengths stem primarily from the ingredient’s ability to plump fine lines and wrinkles as well as reinforce the moisture barrier, protecting it from the penetration of bacteria, pathogens and other environmental stressors.
In addition to being an excellent source of antioxidants, Portulaca Oleracea (Purslane) Extract contains omega-3 fatty acids, making it effective at stimulating cell regeneration. High levels of Vitamins E, C and beta carotene help it to brighten skin tone and reduce sun induced damage.
Traditionally used in Asian medicine for its healing ability, Cica is a diverse ingredient offering anti-inflammatory benefits to ease irritation and acne while restorative properties stimulate new cell growth, build collagen and improve circulation also making it a powerful anti-ageing ingredient.
As well as being an effective humectant like Glycerin which appears high up in this short ingredient list, Butylene Glycol additionally assists to increase the penetration of other ingredients and hence boost their effectiveness.
JKosmmune products are composed of only natural, safe ingredients and certified cruelty-free.

the performance
Elegantly presented, the serum comes in a clear glass bottle, indicating it is not light degradable, although I always opt to store serums in a dark cabinet. The dropper is securely housed in the bottle with the help of a plastic net around the opening which additionally scrapes excess serum from the pipette as it is lifted out, effectively preventing dripping.
The serum itself is completely clear in appearance and typically more viscous than water in texture, almost like a runny gel. It is pleasantly fragrance free and emits no detectable scent from its natural, cruelty free, CosDNA and EWG approved composition.
It retains plenty of slip, allowing it to easily glide over the skin. I apply it following cleansing and toning, morning and night. The serum leaves a tacky residue which completely fades in just a few minutes. It layers really well with any combination of products so it’s possible to dull this sensation by adding another serum or cream directly over the top when patience or time is lacking for it to naturally dry down. With only a couple of minutes needed, absorption is quick.
Although instructions suggest 1-2 drops per application, I am a little heavy handed and opt for around 3 to thoroughly cover both face and neck. Application is easy without any irritation, even on sensitive skin. I notice an immediate feeling of moisture but the test with a product like this is in its ability to hold moisture between applications and improve skin health over the longer term.
In order to test the hydrating effects of this serum, I applied it after cleansing and toner and before emulsion in a short evening routine executed over two consecutive nights. Emulsion only adds limited or light hydration which for me, doesn’t really last over the course of the night, so this process really gave the serum a chance to shine. To my surprise, my face felt plump in the morning. It was only marginally less bouncy than when I layer serums, add oil and a sleeping pack. Impressive! So, it definitely passes the hydration test.
Over time, skin gains a healthy glow because the moisture barrier is strengthened, better equipped to resist environmental stressors and pollutants. Supporting this theory, I noticed my face look healthier with continued use. I have a slightly more sensitive patch of skin on my chin that is the first place I may experience a flare up or discomfort from a product. This is sometimes slightly pink following irritation and usually noticeable to me because of enlarged pores and greater sensitivity. After using this serum twice a day for almost 3 weeks, I observed a great improvement in this region of my face, the usually compromised moisture barrier seems so much stronger, shown by a more regular and consistent skin tone, better oil balance plus a generally more robust nature. I didn’t observe any change int he appearance of pores. I’ve rarely experienced long lasting tone and texture evenness across all parts of my face. So, this serum certainly improved my skin tone although I didn’t see any lightening of dark spots that purslane may bring with regular use. It has been less than 3 weeks so it’s not out of the question with continued application.
As far as achieving a glow, there was no halo-like shine but the fact that my skin simply looks fresher, healthier and bouncier, sufficiently confirms radiance.
the conclusion
The purity and simplicity of this product are exciting. A handful of natural ingredients, headed by the hero β-glucan, come together to deliver a beautiful serum that does as it claims. My skin feels bouncy, looks fresh and is strengthened with twice daily use. It’s gentle formula will please all skin types.

Hi and thanks for your enquiry (which I had to run through Google Translator).
From what I understand, you bought this serum and it changed from clear to a dark yellow. I’m not aware of such a problem with beta glucan based products. This is a common issue with Vitamin C derivatives. Perhaps the serum was stored incorrectly or is expired?? I suggest you contact the brand directly for an answer as to why this happened and what should be done about it.
In the meantime, to me, it seems that it has gone bad so I wouldn’t use and certainly not before consulting JKosmmune.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance.
